Professional Background

Professional Experience

I have been working in the mental health field for the past thirteen years and love the work that I do. I have experience treating a variety of populations including: adults, adolescents, couples, the elderly, substance users, and families. Over the years, I have also volunteered with the Downtown Women's Shelter and with the USC Alumni Mentor Program.

Educational Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW65206). I received a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from USC.

I began my career advocating for foster children through my position at the Department of Child and Family Services. I have experience working in School Based Mental Health, in the Non-profit sector. There I enjoyed providing individual and family therapy to youth in the Long Beach, Lakewood and Compton areas.

Clinical Practice

I also have experience providing mental health assessments and intensive psychotherapy with severely and persistently mental ill adults (SPMI) through the LA County Department of Mental Health. I have experience serving as a Transitional Age Youth (TAY) liaison for approx. five years, matching young adults with the appropriate mental health services. I also have experience training and supervising Master of Social Work (MSW) interns in a county clinic setting.
